COMMUNITY MAINTAINEDShort info
The Maniacs (Manijaci) are the organized supporter group of FK Željezničar Sarajevo, one of the most famous football clubs in Sarajevo.
The group was founded in 1987, during a period when ultra fan culture was growing across the former Yugoslavia. Inspired by other European supporter movements, a group of passionate Željezničar fans decided to organize themselves more formally. They chose the name “Manijaci” (which means “The Maniacs”) to show their extreme loyalty and passion for the club.
Manijaci are known for:
Loud and constant chanting
Large choreographies (tifos)
Blue colors, which represent Željezničar
Strong loyalty to the club, even during difficult periods
During the Bosnian War, many members of the group defended their city. After the war, Manijaci played an important role in rebuilding the club and bringing back the atmosphere to the stadium.
Today, they stand in the Grbavica Stadium’s south stand, creating one of the most intense football atmospheres in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Their biggest rivalry is with the supporters of FK Sarajevo, known as the Horde Zla.
Manijaci are considered one of the most dedicated and passionate fan groups in the Balkans.
